Project Description
Terminal 21 opened in 2011 on Sukhumvit Road in the heart of the retail center of Bangkok. It comprises over 57,000 sq.m. of gross retail area with over 600 retail shops contained in a nine level retail podium. In addition, a 20-storey, 300 room hotel is located above the retail areas separated by a landscape podium.
A prime urban location and accessibility to Bangkok's excellent public transport systems were crucial to the vision of Terminal 21. Its major challenge was to differentiate the retail center from its many competitors on a comparatively small site. This solution was to create a unique 'department store' merchandising strategy within the context of airport and mini-shop environment.
