About Us
RDG Planning & Design was founded by Geoffrey Cresswell, an experienced architect with an extensive background in architecture, urban planning, and interior design. He was the founding principal of MMC International Architects, an architectural firm based in Toronto, Canada, which was established in 1989.
With unique global experience in retail planning and retail design architecture, he brought his dynamic Western perspective to the expanding Asia markets and later established RDG Planning & Design in 1992.
In 2020, Mr. Cresswell retired, passing the leadership to his experienced design directors, Mr. Chayanan Chalainanont and Mr. Seadhar Jirawattnotai, both bringing years of experience and expertise to the company’s continued success.
RDG Planning & Design provides a diversified approach bringing fresh ideas that are achievable within the specialized nature of retail commercial development. We offer a team approach of experienced retail architects and interior designers to offer the best possible design solutions that match our Client’s demand for success.

With over 30 years of experience, we are specialized in all aspects of retail design and offer a wide range of related services. RDG Planning & Design provides a diversified approach bringing fresh ideas that are achievable within the specialized nature of retail commercial development. Our services include masterplanning, retail planning, interior design and environmental graphic design.
Retail Planning & Masterplanning
Every successful retail development begins with a plan that tells the right story. We work closely with the marketing and leasing team, Project Architect and Engineers to craft a floor-by-floor retail plan that balances the leasing team’s strategy, operational needs, and the Client’s financial vision. From defining tenant layouts and sizing to shaping voids and vertical flow, every detail is considered with purpose. The result is a plan refined enough to drive key tenant negotiations forward.
Interior Design & Environmental Graphic Design
With the retail plan in place, the space begins to come to life. RDG develops initial interior design concepts in close collaboration with the development team — refining and evolving ideas until a shared vision is approved. From there, we carry the design through development and into full construction drawings, ensuring every detail is resolved with precision.
